Obraz sytuacji w Strefie Gazy

Od października 2023 roku sytuacja w Strefie Gazy jest dramatyczna. Bilans ofiar to ponad 68 tys. zabitych i ponad 170 tys. rannych. Eskalacja konfliktu doprowadziła do masowych zniszczeń infrastruktury cywilnej oraz załamania systemów opieki zdrowotnej, edukacji i dostępu do podstawowych usług. Ludność cywilna, w tym kobiety, dzieci i osoby starsze, doświadcza regularnych ostrzałów i bombardowań. Brakuje wszystkiego: żywności, wody, prądu, opieki medycznej i bezpiecznego schronienia. W sierpniu br. klęska głodu w Strefie Gazy została oficjalnie potwierdzona przez ONZ. Ponad 640 tys. osób znajduje się w najcięższej fazie kryzysu żywnościowego, a 1,1 mln kolejnych jest nim poważnie zagrożonych. Rodziny przeżywają na minimalnych racjach, często dzieląc jeden bochenek chleba na wiele osób.

Program Rodzina Rodzinie – konkretne wsparcie

Nadzieję cierpiącym rodzinom przynosi wsparcie Caritas Polska w ramach programu Rodzina Rodzinie. Jest to największy zagraniczny program pomocy humanitarnej Caritas Polska, zainicjowany w 2016 roku. Obecnie obejmuje swoim zasięgiem Syrię, Liban, Ukrainę oraz Palestynę.

Program polega na bezpośredniej pomocy finansowej udzielanej na miejscu rodzinom. Gotówkowy charakter wsparcia staje się wybawieniem w skrajnie trudnych sytuacjach, takich jak ta, w której znajdują się mieszkańcy Strefy Gazy. Kiedy nie dociera do nich pomoc żywnościowa ani rzeczowa, wsparcie finansowe daje im możliwość zakupu najpotrzebniejszych rzeczy. Środki finansowe są przeznaczane na zakup żywności, leków oraz zaspokojenie podstawowych potrzeb. Pomoc kierowana jest do grup najbardziej wrażliwych, takich jak osoby starsze, z niepełnosprawnościami i rodziny wielodzietne. Od początku jego istnienia programem objęto ponad 50 000 rodzin i ponad 1000 małych rodzinnych biznesów.

Caritas Poland is asking the international SITE Poland community to support the fundraising campaign conducted as part of your event. Your involvement is invaluable in the context of the humanitarian disaster that families in the Gaza Strip are facing.
The situation in the Gaza Strip

Since October 2023, the situation in the Gaza Strip has been dramatic. The death toll stands at over 68,000, with more than 170,000 injured. The escalation of the conflict has led to massive destruction of civilian infrastructure and the collapse of health care, education, and access to basic services. Civilians, including women, children, and the elderly, are experiencing regular shelling and bombing. There is a shortage of everything: food, water, electricity, medical care, and safe shelter. In August this year, the famine in the Gaza Strip was officially confirmed by the United Nations. More than 640,000 people are in the most severe phase of the food crisis, and another 1.1 million are at serious risk. Families survive on minimal rations, often sharing a single loaf of bread among many people.

Family to Family Program – a tangible support

Caritas Poland brings hope to suffering families through its Family to Family program. It is Caritas Poland’s largest foreign humanitarian aid program, launched in 2016. It currently covers Syria, Lebanon, Ukraine, and Palestine.

Just $179 / approx. 700 PLN can give a family a chance to survive the winter.

Support that changes everything
Food, medicine, survival.
The program provides direct financial assistance to families on location. Cash support is a lifeline in extremely difficult situations, such as those faced by the residents of the Gaza Strip. When food and material aid does not reach them, financial support gives them the opportunity to buy the most necessary items. The funds are used to purchase food, medicine, and basic necessities. The aid is directed at the most vulnerable groups, such as the elderly, people with disabilities, and multi-child families. Since its creation, the program has reached over 50,000 families and more than 1,000 small family businesses.
